also, i thought that slaughterhouse five related to a group of 5 people too
(i'm assuming you think this way because you put 'the' at the beginning)

but it's actually the building, as in the fifth slaughterhouse

I'm reading Bagombo Snuff Box at the moment.
It's a collection of his short stories. I find Vonnegut a bit hit and miss, though. He has a style of writing that I sometimes find really hard to get into.

I've been reading a bit of Philip K. Dick and Asimov recently, too.

I like Philip K Dick
Ubik was good, and A Maze of Death should be read purely for its ridiculousness.

I like Ubik, haven't read the other one.
My favourite novel of his is probably A Scanner Darkly, although many of his short stories are also excellent.

Some of his books I enjoy but find really confusing and can't really make sense of without a few rereads. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, for example. But he's very good at putting you into the minds of his characters.

A Scanner Darkly is very good
and Do androids dream of electric sheep?.

I know what you mean - he throws you into the books headfirst. I spend 2/3rds of it going "huh?" but then suddenly it all makes sense.
