In the current circumstances the smaller parties have he strongest chance in decades.
Basically the relative dominance of the various parties (known as political cleavage, lolfact fans) only undergoes serious upheaval during times of prolonged national crisis.
You've got one, ergo the various small parties are all in with a chance of serious growth.

oh yeah they'll grow no doubt,
but they still won't win. We'll get the Tories again, I think that's pretty much a foregone conclusion. I must make clear I'm not using any of this as an excuse to vote or not vote one way or another.

That wouldn't happen outside a world war.
Labour and Tories would both try to exclude each other, and the Lib Dems would get more of their legislation passed by making a deal with either.
