seriously?
my mate's former flat owners were re-enactors, they needed a gun cupboard to store the weapons in and the barrels were separated from the body of the weapon (I believe they were english civil war muskets)

Thats what I want one for.
I am a re-enactor. It gets the piss taken but is a lot of fun.

it may be a blindingly obvious solution but have you tried asking the question on any re-enactment forums?
don't recall how many there are, I looked them up at one point when looking for photos of a martini-henry rifle

Just walk into the Police station, slap a fiver on the desk and say "One please!".

Can't you just re-enact the Iraq war instead?
It has much better guns.
