alternative possibility
(though this being b3ta, not a probability I'd go for)
is that they weren't actually working on their studies at all, and had an unrealistic expectation that attending occasional lectures was sufficient to pass the course. short sharp shock in reality later, they would stand a chance at either working out what they need to be doing, or aiming a smidge lower.
*shrug* still somewhat c*ntish bragging about it, however

yeah
except we don't do that by throwing them off the course except in extreme circumstances where all else has failed. It takes time to adjust to the Uni way of working, our job is to help them adjust. Otherwise the failure is ours as much as the students.

no
ejecting the chaff makes sense if they're clearly doing the wrong thing

this was my problem:

"felt good to ruin their shitty little lives"

which Uni did you get kicked out of then?

You also work in a University
and secretly, it didn't really feel good, I was indifferent but saying that wouldn't be in the spirit of /talk would it?

I'd say the spirit of /talk
was more along the lines of brutal honesty than lying to stop people from liking you.

Oh whoops
I actually thought it was a competition to see who could say the most abusive and inflammatory thing ever

no that usually only happens by accident,
but once you've started a hole, you've got to keep on digging.

you are correct and have a great big arse
do you see what i did there?
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 15:00, archived)
you ain't seen my arse,
but actually I rather like it.
