Wigan is famous (well, it is up North anyway) for its love of pies.
You haven't lived until you've had a Wigan pie.

Ohhh, ok then.
You outside-m25ers have strange ways about you, I'm quite indifferent to pies.

Pies are, mostly, borring.
I don't see why people go mad over them.

You know gonzo, back in world war 2 the allies ate a lot of pies.
And you know who didn't?
That's right, Mussolini.

Why would I want to eat the kind of food they made because there was a food ration?
It's like the 50s-00s, along with the influx of such wonderous cuisen never happened.

PIES ARE FOR VICTORY.
If it wasn't for pies they'd be jackbooting up Shaftesbury Avenue even as speak.
Good day to you sir.

Now, now, I can see why they needed pies in Cornwall, stop all the tin getting in the dinner.
But as lahndahnah, I'm quite happy with my pot of jellied eels.

you know who love pies gonz, australians, they even have drivethru pie places, imagine that

Places where you can drive through pies?
They must be huge pies.
Or tiny cars.

Pies are fantastic.
I'm talking about decent home-made ones though, not the greasy meatless pukka pie type things.

Ah
I guess baklava fulfills all your pie needs.
(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:04, archived)
Oh great, now I'm confused again.

(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:06, archived)
Baklava is a type of greek pie.
During the Greek war of independence from Troy, the greeks would smear Baklava pie on their faces so they wouldn't be recognised.
This is where we get the word balaclava from.

Greek? [citation needed].

(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:11, archived)
It means people or things from Greece, or relating to, or pertaining to Greece.
e.g. Hercules, Feta Cheese, Sodomy.
(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:12, archived)
I refute your claim that Baklava was invented by the greeks.
Don't get me wrong, they're happy to eat it, much like the rest of the middle east, but to say they invented it? Woooh neally, I doubt that very much.
(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:16, archived)
Yes. Greek.
Read wikipedia if needs.

Baklava
It's an Eastern dish. Popular in Greece, Turkey, Iran etc. Well, it's more of a snack. Bloody gorgeous it is too.
(, Fri 10 Jul 2009, 17:08, archived)
My answer was better.

You didn't really have much competition though.
