But my mouse pointer keeps randomly spacking out and hurling itself round the screen trying to load things and such, ive tried scans but nothing seems to be wrong, any ideas? :S

they can go up the spack sometimes. If you use a mouse mat start using the table instead, if you use a table, put some thick paper between the mouse and the table.
