I was discussing it with Mrs Moose on the way home yesterday... (yes, we left early. Heinous!)... fundamentally our problem was there were too many people.
175000 people is OK in terms of camping space, indeed, they keep making the camp-grounds bigger, but the problem comes when the Pyramid Stage area is no bigger, the intersections are no bigger, etc etc... They can put space in to camp, but you can't legislate for everybody wanting to see the same act at the same time. When I first went it was 75000 total. Now you get more than that (in the same space) to watch Shakira...
Plus, as with much of the rest of society, it's just not as "nice" as it was.
I still think it's a wonderful, special, place and have had many great moments there, but it's no longer for me.
I might just be getting old.
I did make the Glastonbury website though :)
Edit : Apologies for length, it's like a George Clinton song.

I would've put up with it to watch him.
But I got that feeling from the first time I went. It was full of cunts. I do always feel a pang of jealousy when I watch it on telly but then I remember how much I didn't enjoy it.

but given that we almost had a domestic in the cab back from Paddington, I think another night in the tent, followed by trying to get home with everyone else in sweltering heat, would probably have caused the end of the world.
Yes, I missed Stevie, but I kept my fiancé. I don't regret it.
I watched it on telly last year, and that's what caused me to go back. I won't be going next year.

But then I am fucking well old, innit.

'97 - Muddy, but a great experience
'98/'99/'02 - Travelled in on a day basis, so got respite
'03/'04 - OK
'07 - Muddy, but found my mojo again :) (And Mrs Moose)
'08 - Great to show Mrs Moose some of the "rest" of the festival
'10 - Too big, too busy, too commercial, too full of cnuts.

97, left early, really bad experiences for a couple of the girls that were with us and the rain was relentless.
didn't go back until 2002 and 2003 and fucking hated it both times. Realised I was never going to be 20 again so stopped trying to pretend I was ;)

Oh, and the size of the queue for the Orange "Chill & Charge" tent just sent waves of despair for humanity through my body.
All mobile phones should be handed in at the gate. Fuck it, if you lose someone, go and find someone new.

I (actually and a few others) were getting irate on here last week about the number of utter, utter arseholes tweeting and updating their facebook status from Glastonbury. Just. Stop. And. Think. About. What. You. Are. Doing. Then throw away your phone or kill yourself, but whichever, do it quickly.

I do agree though, people going on about it so they can look cool are irritating as fuck.
I liked Glastonbury when I went, but I think there are other festies more worth going to. Endorse It last year was great :)

I think we might try The Secret Garden Party next year, or maybe The Trowbridge Village Pump. Something tiny, with no-one you've ever heard of, just an opportunity to kick back in a field with beer, music and (hopefully) sunshine.

but Secret Garden Party looks really bloody pretentious (from the pics I've seen).
Besides, Lord de Ramsay's got enough money, I'm not giving him any of mine.

I'll have to investigate to see what else is out there.

But I saw some pictures on someone's facebook and it just looked like a load of wanky art students.
Like I said, I enjoyed Endorse It last year, quite small and compact, bands ok-ish, but a good atmosphere. Clean toilets too! And men get to dress up as ladies on the sunday :)
Lots of my friends like Beatherder (next weekend?), I've never been though.
