I've reluctantly accepted the idea that it must be something on my computer which is slowing it down.
It is equally slow through a wireless or a wired connection so I don't think its a wireless setting or a router problem.
The speed seems to be slowed down by a set amount and doesn't fluctuate, almost as though an arbitrary 'speedlimit' has been imposed.
I might try running the computer in safemode and see if the speed is normal then, if it isn't at least I can discount some sort of software conflict.
I'm almost certain that I have no spyware on here, any suggestions for a program which would make it absolutely clear either way would be very helpful.
