I read a book called Moondust last week about the moon missions.
What I never thought of before was that there were three of them sent up in each Apollo mission, and the best pilot was the one who was left behind on the orbiter while the two less good ones got to walk on the moon. Not only was he left up there, he was alone for days on end, in space, in a tidgy little box. Important lesson there: always be second best, because being the best leaves you alone and not walking on the moon.

Not just the other year, it was 2002
Like, nearly a decade ago.
Moondust had an interview with Buzz, and a short interview with the guy who got punched as well. I liked Buzz better. All in all it's an ace book. 17 out of 19, would recommend.

Yeah but they could have got out and their heads could have exploded.
The sound would have been deafening.

In space, no-one can hear your head explode.

If a tree falls down on the moon and no one is about, does it make a sound?

THERE ARE NO TREES ON THE MOON

Yeah I'm answering questions no-one has asked
I also broke the nelson's column statue on my desk today, so I'll have to glue that back together again.
