yeah I've heard good things about King Gizzard but the silly name puts me off
Which seeing as I'm quite keen on Scottish hip hop experts 'Jazz Spastiks' is a bizarre stance to take, but there you go, it is what it is.

They've done albums in totally different styles from acoustic-y folk stuff to near-on death metal, you most likely won't like it all
Nonagon Infinity is their best one. They got into customising their guitars, adding frets to create middle eastern scales and so on, and fucking complex time signatures - from a technical perspective alone they are really fucking impressive.
