so even reading "life is a rollercoaster, just gotta ride it" gives me such a proustian rush of sensory memory of that restaurant I can hardly explain it to you. the thick tablecloths. the metalic scrapesounds of the rotating condiment carousel. the blue lighting, like the underside of racerlads' cars going up and down the seafront of a summer evening. the years, all of the years ahead, blank pages at the time and now written out

It's incredible how certain pieces of music, aromas, tastes or even, as you say here, mere words on a screen can instantly transport you to a moment or time in your past like a lightning bolt. Quite extraordinary, almost like time travel.
