Biriani's been and gone around here, it was the go-to start-a-takeout option here for a while a few years back, cheap ingredients, easy prep, big markup.
It was still hard to find a genuinely decent biriani though, and unsurprisingly we're back to the indian and indo-chinese fast food which is served in the kind of indian veggie dives I frequent.
