Burnham will have all the same problems as Starmer and if he deviates from the manifesto he's going to run into a brick wall. Nothing is going to get any easier in the next two years, why not pick a fight now when Reform are on the way down?
He's a big political gambler and this would be a huge punt, but if he doesn't go for it now he could be in a much worse place in two years.

And correct. But truly the opportunity to see the thicko far right split itself and behead Reform is more beautiful and likely than Burnham gambling, although without Farage he might be more inclined to.
