Bored with that thread.
Tell us about something you got wrong when you were younger that makes you cringe to this day.
As a youngster I thought God's name was Peter and announced this loudly at some family do. My reasoning behind this was that at church the priest would say 'Thanks, Peter God' at the end of the service.

In the REM song Sidewinder sleeps tonight
I thought the follicly challenged songsmith Mike Stipe was singing "Calling Jamaica" and not "Call me when you try to wake her" which were the actual lyrics.

i was the child who believed the story about the deaf old lady at the back of the room during ballet performances etc
over all the dulcet tones of the demure little girls can be heard my surprisingly gruff yorkshire accent bellowing: "NEEEEEEEVER SMIIIIIILE AT A CROCODIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE".
also i had a bad habit of taking my pants off everywhere, including at the altar during my brother's christening. my parents found these family videos hysterical enough to bring out to every friend/bf i ever had.
luckily i now have sweet accent-less dulcet tones. and my knickers are glued to my arse.

When I was about 12 I argued until I was blue in the face that Bruce Springsteen was a better guitarist than Eric Clapton. It was only years that I remembered the argument and cringed with embarrassment when I realised my error. They are, of course, both cunts.

but Springsteen wins on the "close the fucking window" count

If he is the self-styled 'voice of blue collar America' (not a voice I have any interest in hearing anyway) how can he also be the self-styled 'boss'?
I put it you that he is thick, shit AND a cunt.

I told you the other day
I used to say Window Still instead of Sill and was never corrected by my parents who thought it was cute and then my teacher took the piss out of me and made the whole class laugh.
I got my own back when my mother insisted that if you wanted Suzanne Vega you will find her leisure centre.

At the beginning of AC/DC's "You shook me all night long"
When the horizontally challenged geordie rocker Brian Johnson sings "She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean", I thought he was singing "She was a fax machine, she kept her modem clean".

As a child I suffered from glue ear
So constantly got things wrong and misunderstood things. My parents didn't realise this until I was around five or six and had just assumed that I was thick.
Eventually they discovered that I was deaf.
And thick.

I have a dumb question.
If a circle goes round something else, it's called a ring. Is there a word that means the same as 'ring' for a square that goes round something? Or is it still a ring?
Am I being really stupid?

There's enough about me to mock, without telling you that I once told DJ to take a short walk off a long pier, or that I bought Timmy Mallet's 'Bombalurina' single when I was 16.
Or that I thought I looked cool when I danced like a flid at a school disco.
