# haha, if Lost ends like that
there will be a sniper/clocktower scenario involving Me, Abrams, Cuse and Lindelof

For old times' sake.

# Bit disappointed by last week's Lost tbh
when she said at the start "every answer will only lead to more questions" she wasn't kidding...
(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:30, archived)
# aye, you're not the first person to say this to me this past week :)
it seemed a bit of a 'cop out' episode introducing the whole 'mysterious Mother' character, who will now (probably) never get explained herself
(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:33, archived)
# a bit plotholey too, for an episode directly overseen by LindelCuse
Jack estimated Adam and Eve's bodies to be about 40 years old in S1, now they're 2000...something something island special powers something...I'm also a bit pissed off with all this "I've arranged it so you can't ever die" stuff. How? Why? When?

Gaaah

# I'm about 8 eps behind on 24
haven't been gripped by this series

It's taken the term 'contrived' to unexciting new levels
(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:22, archived)
# I'll be honest here
the first 'act' wasn't particularly well handled, although from episode 11 or so onwards, the whole pace has changed, and it really is heading towards a 'hopefully' satisfying, if somewhat 'not happy' ending.
There's been a few 'shocks' and 'JB of old' moments that have sprung up over the past few weeks.

Or On The Buses.

it was good, and engaging, but that's all done and dusted now
/much like 'The Shield' as well - grrr.
So, just 24 and Lost to finish up on now

I stuck with it, and despite a gash start, actually developed into an intriguing show,
that ends next week as well, same as 'V'

(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:42, archived)
# I saw the first ep of The Wire
I really enjoyed it, but the missus didn't fancy it.

We've got the first series on DVD, so I'll get round to it eventually, once I'm done with 24, V, Strike Back (which is apparently quite bad), The prisoner (which is undoubtedly dreadful), Deadwood, The Sopranos, Battlestar gallactica... and all those other shows that I'm constantly told I just have to watch
(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:37, archived)
# haha ^this
keeps getting told to watch BG, but not sure, I still have memories of the camp old series

# It's deliberately grim, grinding and slow.

And it hides behind its own slow grimness in an attempt to disguise its poverty of imagination.
And it takes several series of unremitting slowness for the viewer to finally realise this.
Wasted far too many hours with BG. Boooooolsheeeeeeet !

# I couldn't get on with them
not enough time to spend watching em - I still have stuff on my Sky+ from 2008 that I haven't watched yet

the only thing I've kept up with is True Blood, though it was a bit of an anti-climax this season
(, Mon 17 May 2010, 10:45, archived)
# I really want to see The Prisoner.
All the reviews I have read have been very positive. But I guess it is one of those things that you have to completely ignore that there was ever a precious show.

"Yeah, it's great, if you forget it's a remake of something that was much better"

Actually, I'd love to see that quote on the poster for the next 're-imagining' of some classic film.
