# Is that what happened?
I've been out of the loop.

# However it went down you can't blame the special forces....
Must be hellish circumstances.
Needs shopping though ;)

# Hmmm... US marines have a lot of form.

Very powerful film; the rules of engagement they work to allows very little discretion. If a room / building needs clearing, it gets cleared. To the max.

# Yes you can.
Why in god's name were they throwing fragmentation grenades when they knew there was a civilian hostage in the combat zone? Why not use stun grenades or flashbangs, then enter and neutralise any hostiles with firearms instead? Why not a stealth approach instead of a frontal assault? Why not let the local Mullahs talk down the hostage takers instead of using a risky military assault?
This trigger-happy, gung-ho, zero-thought attitude that the US breeds in its soldiers is the reason just about every other military in the world doesn't want to be within 500 miles of them (allied or not), and it's what killed Linda Norgrove.

Edit: Redundant apostrophe removed.

# You've inserted a redundant apostrophe in that last sentence.
I imagine it was something similar that was responsible for this whole sorry episode.

#
First story was that the kidnappers used a suicide vest to kill the hostage.
Then they said she'd been shot, now they're saying that the US SF squad may have killed her with a grenande.
By the end of the week, she'll have had a tactical nuke dropped on her 'to help set her free'.

So I Googled "Rescue Grenade" and it turns out that there is such a thing!
