It's a mystery what makes it there. I myself have done some right shit that's been FP'ed.There doesn't seem to be much in the way of a consistent link between quality/ cleverness/ originality and front page-ability.

I guess some people would say that a basic jpeg like that could be optimised to a slightly smaller size.
