there's a difference between replies creating extra scrolling
and a new post pushing somone elses work off the board entirely.
It's all about the finite number of threads and not about the length of each thread.

Isn't the issue the number of original threads, as opposed to the number of posts, of which only a certain limited number remain outside the archive?
