^ it would never actually do that
I've used artistic licence there, that's actually a photoshopped image...

I realise that.
It would be a far more insidious 'generate a colossal amount of heat and flood an enormous area with radiation for centuries to come' type process...

Just caught the latest on the beeb right now....
While they say they are "attempting to reflood the fuel chamber with seawater" there is a horrible sense of futility about it. Must be bloody awful for the team on site.

Considering what those buildings have been through,
it's testament to how fucking awesome the engineering must be to have withstood so much and still have 4 intact cores.

I have just eaten an apple and I can confirm that my core is still intact as well

I'm about to go for a poo
I'll be dumping my core, hope I don't have a melt down

I totally agree, I wouldn't like to have put money on a UK / European reactor in similar circumstances
But it appears they now have 3 intact cores and one deep radioative sludge filled hole.... Edit: News changed That seems not to be the case now.... back to 4 cores again

They had one of those' dehydrated' reactors
You just add water to.......ohannnnnnd that's the closest I'm getting to making a joke about the whole thing.

Oh, I see...
It's just a shame there wasn't more water about on Friday when the quake hit.. Hang on... there was, wasn't there?

Well that might have made more sense to last night's feeble effort:
