# Very valid.
I guess we're just fed up of hearing about it, but if it makes people happy, there's no harm done is there?
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 0:24, archived)
#
I find it amusing how it seems to bring out extreme reactions. I don't really care in the same way I don't care that Jane and Graeme got married yesterday; I don't know them but best of luck to them. Hope it makes them happy. If they can spread it round then all the better.

# I may be misinformed, but the tax payer doesn't have to pay for security for Jane and Graeme's wedding, do they?
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 0:33, archived)
# Jane and Graeme's wedding also didn't bring in billions in tourism.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 2:06, archived)
# Yeah, but they're only coming to see if there's a terrorist attack.
That's why they've been pushing that aspect.

# ^This.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 2:06, archived)
# exactly
it's making lots of people very happy so fair play to them

# Plus I'm a student
Thus not paying taxes, thus not paying for part of this wedding. I really can't complain, can I?
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 0:35, archived)
# Well, let's see...
How about doing away with the Royal family and reinstating student grants. That'd probably add up, especially if you sold off all their assets.

This'll probably just reduce your interest.

# I just need to slip this in (fnaar). Something Rattlehead did earlier, and I couldn't think what it reminded me of

# GET READY!

# Aahhhhhhhh!
There used to be a big ride-on Space Harrier in Withernsea amusements and I shovelled tons of coins into that as a 15 year old.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:27, archived)
# I long to see such a machine.
I had Space Harrier 2 on the Mega Drive, and used to play Space Harrier 1 in the local arcade... without the ride-on bit =/
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 2:23, archived)
# heh, I was thinking "this reminds me of space harrier" before I scrolled and saw the space harrier dude
I think we need a super hitler space harrier game :D

# Do fuck off.
Oh they bring in the tourists, it's what made this country great, everyone likes a bit of pomp and circumstance, blah blah blah fuck off.
They should be hanged, every last one of the inbred, tax-avoiding, biscuit-manufacturing bastards.
As long as we have a monarchy, we have an excuse for the land owning gentry, progeny of the robber barons of the middle ages.
It's time this country grew up, executed the aristocracy, and became a republic.
And redistributed the wealth and land a little more equitably.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:11, archived)
# Name one republic
where
"...redistributed the wealth and land a little more equitably"

has happened.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:13, archived)
# That's a bit like saying
'communism won't work, look at russia'
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:14, archived)
# It doesn't
Because some people want to be more equal than others.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:29, archived)
# Glib.
Such a prosaic quote is certainly not enough to tempt me into a discussion with you.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:39, archived)
#
Well I don't have all night to hang around to see if you're going to answer.
You've had 10 minutes, so fuck it, I'm off.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 1:25, archived)
# Yawn.
As SLVA said, it never happens anywhere.

Also, how long before I get banned?

# Melbourne.
Definitely go to Melbourne.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 2:16, archived)
# That's a fantastic idea.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 3:23, archived)
# Yes that's going to happen, because deep down everyone's someone
And they'll realise that if we're all just nice to each other instead then the world will be a happier place.

Fuck that - I'm going to take what I can get and everyone else can fuck right off. That's how absolutely everyone thinks, it's our nature, and it's not going to change. There will always be a rich, ruling class, who are above the law, who steal from the poor, and who pass their wealth onto their children, and the prolitariate will always be below it. Sanctimonious whining about it is the privilege of the disenfrachised, and marks one as being perfectly happy to be so.
(, Thu 28 Apr 2011, 9:08, archived)
# Yay!
It's ok that we're paying more for this than for a new hospital, we get a day off.

Leeches.
