i find it dead easy myself
i use the technique of copying all but the first and last frame, then paste them after the last frame and reverse them, but if i need to keep the frame amount low i'll try and to just delete frames until it loops.

Another trick is; to take half the frames (every other)
Slide them to the end and reverse the moved ones only.
And as in yours, trim beginning or ends to suit tastes.
