When I press the big Shiny power button - mac goes 'whirrr - BONG!' and the screen flickers on - goes through the usual build, then says 'you know what? I can't be bothered powering up after all - Night Night...' and switches itself off


any ideas?

try holding shift just after the tone/bong until it finishes booting. that should put it in safemode
