I was thinking similar earlier.People vote on what they'd like to see, rather than what is likely to inspire them to create.
It would be good if only people who took part in the previous week's competition were allowed to vote, as they are more likely to choose fecund ideas.

I voted for orange shapesbecause it was the only option that wouldn`t turn into lots of TOAPs, faceswaps involving people I don`t know, reposts, and, frankly, the 54th "shop an album cover"-like compo since I joined b3ta.
It demands actually demands creativity to produce good and funny stuff (your take on the orange van earlier, for example, made me giggle). People can entry their dull bouncing orange shapes if they like anyway, all compos are mostly shit like that anyway.
