Might be.
A few words of explanation ..
I'm experimenting a bit here. I'm not from the UK and the whole "chav" phenomenon is not a big thing 'round these parts. Still, over the years I've sensed a lot of animosity towards this particular social group on the b3ta board.
I recently read an article in one of our national newspapers regarding the UK riots. One of the points that was made was that the "chav" group -- essentially the unemployed remnants of the working class -- was one of the very few social groups that one could openly bash in public. Social and ethnic groups, obviously, are off limits these days. I don't know if this is all true but it's an interesting thought.
So my experiment was to throw this in here and see how people reacted.
Main thing, I enjoyed drawing it.
And well, it's satire. It doesn't need to be a 1:1 reflection of my viewpoints. It might not necessarily make fun of said chav, it might also make fun of the scientist or of conventions in society. Make of it what you want.

who is to be blamed for having generated those chavs?
I don't live in UK either and can't draw a direct correlation between british chavs and specific "low class" groups around here, but I get a bit worried when people start point fingers at someone else and forget that this "society" concept includes a complex relation of causes and effects, and nothing happens if there isn't a cause. In my view from this side of the globe, as peculiar as every country can be, the question that almost never gets asked is "what might I have done wrong to have cause this?", while it is often the most important answer in the way to minimize those conflicts.

I tried conveying a similar point on /board previously, but was met with a fair amount of aggression.

And it was a very good picture - beautifully done.
But perhaps commenting on highly sensitive social affairs in a foreign country, let alone making an attempt at satire, requires a bit more attention to detail.
My chav relatives'd smash your teeth in if you said this kind of stuff to their face.
Where in the world are you, btw?
*EDIT* ah, I forgot - my sister got divorced! So I haven't got any chav relatives any more...

there's been hundreds of posts on here mocking chavs and they never get flamed, and 90% of them have not been done as nicely as this.

I believe the best way of describing the distinction between chavs & disaffected young folks is similar to Chris Rock's routine on "Black People Vs Niggers".
People can be young, long-term unemployed, bored, ethnic, hoody-wearing, any of the other factors mentioned by the media, etc. etc. without being irredeemable cunts.
