# im gonna have me some fun
im gonna have me some fun

But not if it was the original version of solaris, cos that was dull as fook.

Loved the soddyburg remake (and its soundtrack) though.

# I haven't seen the Soderbergh one yet, though should for the sake of comparison!
I do love the Tarkovsky film but would agree that it's not particularly entertaining (nor does it try to be).

# it has some intresting ideas, but its just too long
you'll realise that once you see the soderbergh version

# I think the original is one of those films that probably works brilliantly
in the cinema, as it allows you to sit and think about what you are watching.

On DVD, there is always too much distraction to truly get absorbed in something that slow.

# That could well be it.
I do try to make time to watch a film from start to end without interruption - Solaris wasn't too hard, but Once Upon a Time in America has certainly proved a challenge.

# I've tried watching the new version three times
It's a cracking cure for insomnia, fair play.

# the clooney one is so self consciously pretentious
Tarkovsky original is what you want
