minor T.J: can you take ibuprofen at the same time as paracetamol?

# I am pretty certain you can
but check with a doctor, or probably better still, phone your local chemist

# Yes
(, Thu 3 Nov 2011, 17:01, archived)
# You shouldn't really, no
but they don't have any particular interactions together, so just don't over do it.

# i was told by NHS direct
to alternate them when i had bad dental pain...but not together

# hmmm
the nhs direct link emvee posted says to take them both at the same time, but not to take any more for 6 hours.

# ah well i had to take them until i could find a dentist.....so not short term
so depends on how long you intend to be in pain i suppose
(, Thu 3 Nov 2011, 17:08, archived)
# not long
got this cold on the run

# Yes.. they sell them mixed together in the same tablet under a brand name....
You should be able to take asprin and codeine at the same time too, have a very strong cup of tea with them as well, or a caffien drink, this increases the effectiveness of them...

# yes
but best to space them out brufen first, 2 hrs later paracetamol, then brufen 2hours after that, continue like that until you reach your RDA of over the counder painkillers.

# Yes, you can
But don't take ibuprofen on an empty stomach, unless you want an ulcer.
