I like that idea. the US gov started selling bonds to finance WW1.
I'd like to get you lot to pay for me to start a war. I think I'll send drones on the bloke at the cornershop who gave me a funny look like I was shoplifting the other day.

but how bonds work basically is you get your money back PLUS interest after set time period.
Whilst I have to use your money to wage the war - then claim the assets of the cornershop to be able to pay you back and profit.
So basically you'll probably get some dented tins of beans back.

makes me think 21C soldiers could be wearing Armani suits, going to a corporate HQ and spend all day at a PC unleashing death from the skies.
(Although there is problems of lag. You want your remote controlled drones controlled by operators as near as possible.)
