it's mainly when people judge it in comparison to the its own hype and the first two movies that it seems poor.

I haven't actually seen it personally, but I'm sure it can't be as big a turd as Aliens 3...

but I heard it was ok-ish when considered in its own right. Having said that, I mainly despise 3 on the basis of its beginning, which makes the whole brilliant story arc of Aliens pointless.

If you get the chance see it and make up your own mind. Too many people say this is shit that is shit blah blah fucking blah. Have a look and decide yourself. I actually enjoyed it. I have the Quadrility on DVD and I like them all.
