Nor did I know the point of posting was to be on the popular page, let alone the front page. For me that's probably a good thing since they're all well out of my fliddy reach. But then I never check the front page or the popular page and rarely pay close attention to the image challenge part of the newsletter.
I think it's all too possible to take this place too seriously.

Have seen plenty of good stuff on here that barely gets any attention (I don't mean mine - I'm fully aware that most stuff I post is shit), but when a well-known name posts something it immediately garners comments and votes even if it's low in hummus. I think everything in life is like that though. It's whom you know...

The whole point in the challenges is that it IS a democracy
So they shouldn't be screened by the mods at all.

There was a period when " I found this I think it should win the compo "
seemed to be in the top three every week. Some of them were funny, but some were just faceswaps. I can see whoever placed 4th getting pissed off with that.
