Oooh. Satire. Perhaps we should organize a leaving pressie for him?

# shirley he would still be on a 3 month probationary period
and they would be able to terminate his employment at any time.

# a 23 year probationary period?

# well he's only been in his current position for a couple of months
[edit] also they were saying on the news earlier that contractually the beeb only has to give him a 6 month pay off, it is the trust that has decided to up it to 12 months.

# I accept the beeb comes across a bit blase giving him the max he's entitled to
But what the hell about ITV? The Newsnight thing didn't mention McAlpine by name; Philip Schofield had a list of names live on air!

# This ^^ oh feck this so much
I'm sick of all the politicos and interested parties, who keep stcking a knife ino the BBC at every chance they get.

The BBC is not perfect but it's lightyears better than a paid for by advertisers services everywhere else.

# Too true.
Suggests to me Murdoch's still in charge of the debate.
ITV deserve some abuse for Schofield's stupid stunt. And if not that, for being shit and moronic at all times.

# Very much so.
Although the Beeb does seem to make things worse for itself by making itself the top story.

# plus the speaker of the House of Commons tweeted about him before the BBC mentioned him

# Everything they do for the foreseeable future will be mocked, scrutinised and bitterly contested.
Invariably by organisations/individuals that have scores to settle and their own skeletons to hide.

Happy B3taday, also.

# Thanks
I meant to get my shizzle together and post a pic in celebration but alas my shizzle remains scattered.

# Good luck to him
He was unlucky enough to get the job at a really bad time and was effectively made redundant, taking one for the team.

As such he would be entitled to one month pay per year worked, probably works out a lot more than he got.

I've got more time for him than the smug git he replaced.
