# Yesterday I rescued a dove that was trapped between fences.
Now I don't know what to do with it. He can't fly, he won't eat.
Anyone know of any good dove recipes?
Srsly...what am I gonna do with this?

# Oh noes!
Poor Dove! Cuddle it back to health's the best bet :)

# 200c for 1 hour
or phone rspca - they deal with birds

# sounds like shock
which means it'll probably die. we used to get racing pigeons in our yard from time to time. if they were injured or stressed, they rarely survived.

# If it's in shock or breathing quickly
Put it in a covered box for a while. The darkness will calm it down a bit. Then you can try leaving it alone with bird food and water. Otherwise, call the RSPCA (are you in the UK?) and they'll tell you to take it to a local vet on the RSPCA's behalf/free of charge.

# Yep. Bunch of cunts. All of them.
and other sweeping generalisations...

# well, my friend's a vet and blah blah blah
hope your pidge/dove gets better. We have a wood pigeon who visits here quite often (yes, I know it's an agricultural pest but the cats have killed everything else round here), and he seems to like the corn-type bird feed the most :)

# somehow find out if the wing is broken... a quick examination by a vet.Maybe for free.1 minute.
Hopefully it won't be broken and just sprained :)but then the hard choice if it is....gulp........ :(

# I think he broke a toe, and he has half a tail...which means he met a cat at some point, which is how he got trapped I imagine.

# With dove you need to make sure it doesn't dry out during cooking
I like to stick a lime in its cavity and then cover it with some kind of fat - either bacon, butter or duck fat if you have it. Pull the skin away from the meat around the breasts and stick some fat underneath.

It really is only a minute or two between perfect and dry as shit, so keep an eye on it. Don't go higher than 160C.
