# I still don't know why the party chose her

Although to be fair, they're all pretty abysmal so...

# She's a useful idiot who'll do what she's told by her bosses?
They were impressed by her stance on apples and pork markets?
Her cheeky grin?

# Not that useful if they're now trying to bin her

# She's a useful, *disposable* idiot
who helped tank the economy, and the hedge fund managers made an oodle of cash.
They can ditch her now and get a new useful idiot from the list.

# It's always safe to assume that when it's a choice between conspiracy and cock up
it's usually cock up. MPs just aren't that smart, and the markets make money whichever way things go. It's really just a monumental sulk from the tory mps who wanted Sunak in, and are prepared to trash everything to get it.

My prediction is:
General election
Labour in
Rejoin EU
Far-right groups emerge again and kick off
Things are still bad and we don't have tories/brexit/covid left to blame
Chaos ensues

# aside from the obvious?
she may be completely inept, but she's white. they couldn't accept the idea of having a non-white PM

# Because tory MPs thought the members would chose Sunak over her
MPs engineered it so that the final two were Truss and Sunak, and not Mordant or Badenoch, who were the member's picks. They assumed no-one in their right mind would vote for Truss, but then found out that the party members hated Sunak even more than Truss.

The MPs are hopelessly out of touch. They've been in power for 12 years, fucked it all up, and any person who wants to be leader has so many enemies they can't survive for more than 10 minutes before being toppled. It really is time for a general election.

Mind you, it's not as though the opposition offer any hope. They are all cheeks of the same arse.

# One favourite amongst the members was Kemi Badenoch
Which does rather knock the racism charge. No doubt there are racists in all parties, and especially amongst party members, who have to be a bit whacko to join a political party, but I think the main reason for not liking Sunak was that he was regarded as a backstabber, like Hesiltine.
