The band was called Floydbut when their American agent was shopping them around the record labels, he said "the band is pink Floyd" to differentiate them from a darker-skinned band also called Floyd, and the name stuck.

It is certainly not my dad's favourite.Not mine either. Mostly terminally dull. There are a couple of good tracks on their first album, none after that. Possibly the most overrated band in the world.

They're more my cup of tea than his tbf.If you like them you should try the Frankfurt Radio Big Band, though they're a lot less funky and a lot more jazzy. Their Zappa covers are superb.

my dad's favorites are Queen and The Beatleshe's not in to Pink Floyd, but he did live above one of Keith Floyd's restaurants when my parents lived in Bristol

My other brainwave was a satirical picture about how George Floyd wouldn't have been murdered by police officers if he'd had pink skin, but again that doesn't exactly scream 'comedy goldmine'.
