
quality with jpegs. you get artifacts. etc. gif is the way on the board. and there's nothing wrong with that picture.

Gif will only have 256 colours, JPG can have 16 million.

i know. but 9 times out of 10, people tell other people on the board "save it as gif" not jpg.

but jpegs give you a much better color range, and really if you don't turn the compression up too high, it stays pretty sharp

just, as blackmoon said, you only get 256 colours so it will look a little drab and have more compression defects then a similar file-sized jpeg or ping
