# late-night poetry (indulge an old cyborg)

i went to robot school, you know
(though i admit it was a while ago)
we learned to count in binary
and traverse a data hierarchy

but when the carreerbot came to town
his eyes would flash, and his head spin round
because most of us wanted simple jobs
pressing buttons and beeping, or turning off knobs

but my robot friend x.t.4.r.
he knew what he wanted to be
a deep-sea robot explorer
we all told him he was silly

insisted, he did, through our protests
because deep-sea exploring is what he liked best
the carreerbot sighed and warned him his lust
would bring him despair, and torture, and rust

but xt4r cared not much for the pain
'if i can't be a diver, i may go insane!
i'll install a wetsuit, with an airtight lid'
and to our surprise, one day HE DID!

so my robot friend x.t.4.r.
he now travels through river and sea
swimming with trout and piranhas
being just who he wanted to be

# woo!
there once was a man from tibet
who spent all the money he could get
he was ever so flash,
he spent all his cash
and then i stabbed him in the spleen.
