# Just to go off on a tangent
Why do the BBC think that their night-time audience consists of insomniac deaf-mutes? Or do they just expect such people to video 3 hours of programming each night. The majority of people watching telly now are probably people who man our bars and clubs, trying to unwind after an evening dealing with the general public.

# Because they're legally obligated to do it.

# I'm aware of this
but they could just as easily do it after 3am, or at mid-day on BBC2, as noone watched that shite anyway, not even students and the unemployed.

# Maybe Greg Dyke hates deaf people.
As a part of his hatred, he makes them have to either stay up really late and ruin their employment chances, or have to work out how to program a video recorder, which is worse.

# 'Today with Des and Mel'
is also amusing when signed, becasue the signer try to dance along with songs while he's signing the lyrics.

# dunno
but i find television for the deaf quite relaxing. the facial expressions on people signing are ace

# Ive wondered the same thing myself many times.
another point is, most deaf people arent going to bother paying the licence fee for a fucking television when they cant even hear the fucking thing, so whats the point? unless they REALLY want to watch reruns of "walking with dinosaurs" with that fat bitch doing the signing at 3:00am in the fucking morning...
(, Fri 22 Aug 2003, 1:27, archived)
# don't they get like 50p off the fee?
(, Fri 22 Aug 2003, 1:28, archived)
# I thought that was old people?
and even if it isnt, what the fuck is 50p? Ive just had to shell out fucking £116 for my Tv licence!
