...my ISP's DNS server has a cache the size of a peanut, therefore I have taken to pinging less popular sites to get their IP address, which /I then enter in place of the DNS name in Favourites. It speeds up finding and accessing sites lots and lots. THere's a problem though; whenever I do it to the esteemed B3ta message board some images, such as the inestimable Domo above, are replaced with a graphic claiming to be stolen from B3ta. Me say it have broke teeth, how you say? (Been studying Patois on me sick bed, see?)

it's the fault of people setting up their htaccess in a shoddy manner.

there's an anti-bandwidth-thievery thing in place, so if the image is requested from any server other than b3ta.com or www.b3ta.com, then it returns that image. It's to prevent kiddies leeching and posting the images on message boards, etc. Someone should just tell Kieren, he just needs to update the .htaccess file.

...it'd make things a lot faster. I mean, it's not like its a tuppence ha'penny ISP, just that b3ta slides out of the cache all the time so you have to access it a few times to get F5 to blinking well work if you go through DNS.

So I can add them to a big blacklist.

you could put an entry in your local hosts file. Search your c: drive for "hosts" then open it in notepad and add the IP for www.b3ta.com
