# i don't like the book much really
but the films are just good old fashioned epic adventure films
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:45, archived)
# i think the book is great, its so well writen, in a lot of ways i prefer the book to the film
but i can never be arsed to sit down and read it again so i just watch the films now, takes a lot less time and effort!
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:47, archived)
# nah its just a good yarn
but reeeeeeeally linear at time... frodo has scare... frodo survives with help from his friends (repeat ad nauseum)
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:49, archived)
# i've never read the book
but the films basically go "film starts. film goes on and on and on. xeron sleeps"
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:50, archived)
# yeah but
there are some nifty fight sequences and some fancy special effects (massive still amazes me)and the special effects are actually welldone unlike those in the second matrix film (i havn't seen the third yet)
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:52, archived)
# well
i didn't notice anything interesting happen in the entire film.

# I found the film LOTR so boring I
was ready to leave within about 30 mins of it starting. Not too keen on the books either.

# The first or
second film?
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 14:22, archived)
# yes but what book/film isnt like that
what about the matrix, trinity comes close to death survives, neo comes close to death survives, repeat in next film.. and prolly in the next...
(, Mon 10 Nov 2003, 13:51, archived)
# The first film was good,
in that when you first see it you're not sure whats going on, and its exciting when its revealed what has happened to the human race. Sure, it has its share of bad acting, but as a concept its really good and it did make for an enjoyable film.

The second film was a bit arse, though.

# I thought...
...that Keanu Reeves character called for someone who was mainly bewildered and confused.

Therefore he was perfectly cast.
