Terrible ads.

I find I'm in a predicament this afternoon. One of my better colleagues who I drink with is out of the office. Her husband just called in for a quick chat with her, I confirmed with another colleague that it was her husband and her whereabouts, which he said 'she's having a steamy lesbian affair with a woman who came in'. Thinking like the comedian I am, and due to the fact I've met him and he seemed a good humoured guy, I repeated this to said husband.
He replied 'Ok then, thanks, bye!' and put the phone down.
I don't know if he was pissed off, didn't hear/understand, or genuinely believed me and thinks I and she work in a very liberal office.

I hope I haven't caused a row.
