# You like it?
You like it?!?!?

Please don't tell me it's because it is soooo real. Fucking hell it's like the worst most contrived shite I have ever seen and yet it wins awards!!!!!!!! FUCKING AWARDS!
WHO THE FUCK DECIDES THIS SHITE?
Jesus in the great list of people I would like to give a thorough cock punching to it's the people who write, produce and 'act' in that piece of shite.

Jesus sweet fucking christ I hate it.

# Nope not because its real
I can't tell you why I like it, I just do. Much like cheese, some people like it, some don't.

# Cheese
I can rationalise.

This programme I cannot.

Maybe it's because I have deep seated emotional problems.

Or maybe it's because I'm a Londonnnaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

# I like watching it

# hahahahah
ahahahahahahahhaha!

You're winding me up now aren't you?
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 14:43, archived)
# nope
If there's nothing else on I'll watch it and enjoy it. Some people take things like this too seriously, it's just a TV programme!

# yes
but it is the appaling sense that somehow I, or anyone is meant to relate to it.

Especially when they pop up the helpline numbers after a 'poignant' episode involving rape/murder/homosexuality.

I seeth with rage over the way it effectively smothers peoples abilities to react and stunts the effect of real life to many people, making really tragic events merely a conversational piece or worse, entertainment.

Fuck me.

This is getting deep.

# so you think it's a bad thing that
Childline reported a 50% rise in reports of child abuse after a story on that subject?
(, Wed 11 Feb 2004, 15:06, archived)
# Well
a 50% rise in calls is one thing but that is just a stat. How many of those calls were genuine?

How many of those calls would simply have been generated from a standard ad?

Call me cynical.

# well,
a bit like MOTD then...
