# You won't find
any mods telling people not to threadwaste though as there is no mention of it in the FAQ.

It's a messageboard - we are allowed to post messages.

# Some of the b3ta members
are moderators and have the power to edit posts and put stuff on the front page - they are charged with trying to keep things running smoothly, linkifying huge gifs and so on.

An even smaller number also have admin rights, which also let them add things to the weblog on the front page, set up challenges and alter usernames and passwords and stuff.

# Remember that "worst jobs" question?
I'm nearly finished my worst job ever. Me and another bloke have to swap out 600 CRT monitors for 600 TFT monitors in an eight floor biulding with no trolley to remove the old monitors (all 19"). We started on Monday. We now have 50 to do tomorrow. My arms look like they have been in Seigfreid and Roy's show. I will be spending the weekend in hospital.

# It'll do wonders for your BingoWings !
Poor you... If I had a pre-shopped kitten for back pain I'd give you it..

# Luckily I have no back pain.
I did my back in about 10 years ago and I am now very careful. My knees, however, are totally ruined. I'll take a photo of my bruises tomorrow and post it. They are bad, bad, bad.

# And no fwap either.
I've changed out phone systems in lawyers offices, and had about 20 - 30 huge oak desks to pull out and put back in, just to plug a bloody phone in.
(, Fri 20 Feb 2004, 0:46, archived)
# What are you doing
with all the old monitors?
(, Fri 20 Feb 2004, 0:50, archived)
# I'm robbing a lovely flatscreen CRT.
The rest are going to go in a big skip, apparently. Marvellous.
(, Fri 20 Feb 2004, 0:52, archived)
# I hate when that happens
they usually have to throw away perfectly good stuff, because if they were to find another use for it then it obviously doesn't need replaced in the first place.

My ex-girlfriend retrieved a perfectly good Apple laser printer from a skip at her work a few years ago.

It worked fine (as far as I know to this day) - the toner cartridge didn't even need replaced.

# I got a HP Lazerjet the same way . .
I "liberate" the toner from work and it's been fine for ages now . .

Disposable society :(
