# the short(ish) tale of mr rubber.
mr rubber was bouncing along quite happily one day when he was suddenly set upon by a vicious gang of marauding drawing pins.
'get off!' he shouted in vain.
all looked doomed for poor mr rubber, but then suddenly, along came his friends mr pencil and mr jumbo marker.
'what do you think you are doing?' mr pencil bellowed at the drawing pins.
'eep!' they said in unison.
'you mess with mr rubber, you mess with ME' boomed mr jumbo marker.
at that, the cowardly drawing pins ran off never to be seen again.
'oh thank you mr jumbo marker, you are a true friend' whispered mr rubber rather breathlessly.
and with that, he gave him a kiss and the three friends skipped away together.
