# my wooyay

# Isn't
mocking Apple getting kind of old? Sure, they are "all right" in itself, but enough is enough.

# I wonder when people will start saying

(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:13, archived)
# why i oughta!
*falls off chair*

# I like the quo pics
I suppose because there are a thing as opposed to a brand
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:19, archived)
# i just hated it when it got to the point where it was hopelessly formulaeic
step 1: find image of suffering, preferably graphic and upsetting

step 2: take pre cut quo pic from meme kit and paste on with no attempt at subtlety

step 3: post it

and hated it even more once people lost sight ofthe fact that the joke was them laughing at suffering and just shopped them into every pic

# I think
alot of people miss most of the jokes and think it's the thing to do

the quo sticker kit was fantastic though

# why
do apple users get so upset when anyone even mentions apple in a funny way?
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:19, archived)
# because a lot of rubbish is talked about their system by people who should know better
and if an operating system inspires a sense of involvement and community surely that's good?
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:24, archived)
# no
people should should inspire a sense of involvement and community, not operating systems. And I should know, I live my days and nights developing in Linux, so I have an idea about zealotry.

Mac OS.. recently became a grown up operating system, really quite nice, unfortunately tied to overpriced hardware.

# hmmmmmm... i'm getting a laptop for uni in the summer and i plan to get a yellow dog linux powerbook
to go with my linux/W2K dual boot

personally i like both linux and OS X because using either you feel like there are people around who are willing to give you a hand with stuff when you slip up and also because with either you feel you are using a powerful tool

i don't dislike windows at all, it just doesn't inspire any emotional involvement from me
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:34, archived)
# fair
:)

I get very wound up by a lot of Mac users because, in my experience, they tend to be non-technical, but very fond of quoting Apple propaganda about how massively superior the Mac is to everything else..

I know that's unrelated, but hints of Mac zealotry have a tendency to set me off ;)

[edit: and good night!]
(, Tue 9 Mar 2004, 2:38, archived)
# yeah it does tend to get some people into fanboy mode
but mac OS X really is rather nice and rater well put together

anyway, night night
