does anyone here know much about making a mask work in Flash? I've got it to work until I publish the file, and then it breaks. Any links to tutorials or something of that sort would be appreciated.

It does work in preview, but if I test the movie or I publish it breaks. I used an animated vector shape as my mask. Perhaps that's what's done it. I'll investigate.
