# technically they're supposed to focus on the same point in space
and depending upon exactly where that point in sapce is will determine where they're looking.
As the poitn will never be in exactly the same position relative to both eyes (unless it would be directly to your left or right, in whcih case your eyes couldnt look through the side of your head so is therefore redundant) the angle at which they look will always be atleast every so slightly different.the closer the point is to yoru eyes, the larger the different in angle.

# but why?
wouldn't that mean she would lose the battle for survival of the fittest? Surely a genetic reject such as her would fail in society, forced into isolation due to her boss-eyed freak-face, forever destined to spend time trying in vain to focus on something.

# yes
if we're going to get pedantic then eyes should normally be at slightly different angles but should always be pointing more inwards if anything, never more outwards from each other...

# actually looking at that's made me think
she could be looking at teh same point, might just be assuming she isn't because the iris/pupily bit of the eye isnt in the same relative position with the area of th eye you can see (crappily explained, but basically her left eye shows more white bit between the iris and the nearest edge and her right eye)
The shape of the eye (not the eyeball) woudl just have to be different enough to obscure different bits, even though she was looking at the same point.
That's crapply explained though.
I must be tired to be getting this pedantic over something.
