that reminded me of a lad at schoolwho wound cotton round his finger. Hi did this for a while until his finger started to go purple. I remember him desperatly trying to get the cotton off but it was too tangles up - in the end he put his finger in a lit bunsen burner. That did the trick - but his finger was very burnt. Daft bugger

Hmmsomeone I went to school with did that but around a different appendage.
