let me explain lu has left b3ta because they have become 'nazi' (her words) and i aggree - we are in a world of freee speach and this board denys that - we want an amacable fix to the problem and we wil get alonbg nicely

If Lu's spelling is as bad as yours, the swear filter wouldn't pick it up anyway as there are very few words you typed that didn't contain incorrect spelling.
Do you honestly think that Rob would be upset at ONE person leaving because of the filter? By filtering the swear words, many more people may be able to join the messageboard.
It's Rob's board, he can do as he sees fit, besides, there are many different ways to swear. We manage it.

the filter replaces the words, and everybody knows what the words are ! - the message still gets accross - it doesn't remove the post or anything - just means it's safe to view from work.
