This is a long shot - know of any good music creation software that is affordable (Looked at Reason but really can't justify spending that much). Oh, and I don't want to make dance tracks etc - more for game music.

also available for Linux :) - although this is more a multi-track recording thingie than a sequencer

perhaps worth looking at the old skool apps like soundtracker / protracker?
