# I just can't see it on firefox
and i have nothing blocked, it just seems to be your pictures.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 12:55, archived)
# Thanks for that, then
I'll look at my ruleset and see if I can loosen it up a bit.

# I'm particularly flattered that my lack of clarity
Led you to assume I meant the more intelligent of questions, but actually i just meant the referrers thing. I'm not able to see anything hosted on photobucket these days and while it IS possible it's this stupid chinese network (you wouldn't believe what they censor) i'd just like to ensure it's nothing i've accidently blocked.

# i get that imtermittently in firefox
tools | options | cache | clear
works sometimes

# It's unlikely you're blocking them
if you don't know what they are. It's something you'd have to jump through a few hoops to enable.

I'm guessing it's China. They're cunts.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 12:58, archived)
# Ha hah, looks like
Might have to cut down my b3ta lurking lest they notice and block this too, whatever would I do with myself?!

And thanks to the guys that suggested suggestiony things up there ^^^

# Christ, I remember being in a police station in Beijing about 7 years ago...
We'd been caught smoking a joint (fucking stupid of us, I know). Here's a little snippet I remember like it was yesterday:

Me: "I didn't realise it was illegal"

Policeman: "You should have checked first. China is not training, it is battle"

My mate: "Are we going to jail?"

Policeman: "You could pay me 4000 yuan (back then about AU$1000), or spend the night in a cell"

Me: "I'll spend the night in the cell then"

Policeman: "It is not up to you to decide"

Suffice it to say that my holiday was cut short due to lack of funds.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:08, archived)
# Hahaha! Too typical!
"Here's a choice that we're going to decide for you".

'Net access for the entire country is run through a government proxy server. They decide what you can see and what you can't. I find this detestable.

# I feel sorry for a lot of the locals -
You should see the Chinese version of a housing estate - over 20 identical skyscrapers in one big block, with only a symbol on the front to separate them.

(almost literally)Paper thin walls, too.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:21, archived)
# If I had paper thin walls
I'd buy my all of my hot neighbors bright hallogen lamps and watch their silhouettes on my walls.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:24, archived)
# That could work.
Mind you, it got quite frustrating listening to my neigbours arguing every morning. It came from three different directions one time.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:29, archived)
# You could take the high road
and loudly mediate for the most innapropriate solution.
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:33, archived)
# I would have tried,
But my Chinese is limited to phrases like "I don't want it", "No money", or "You have no arsehole, and you can't even shit".

On reflection, maybe I should have done that...
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:35, archived)
# Yep you have to be EXTRA extra careful over here
And i feel your pain with the fine, i only get paid 3000 in a month!
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:14, archived)
# I really only have myself to blame.
We were feeling lucky and decided to smoke outdoors, not 100 metres away from a guy that had a machine gun. About 2 blocks away from Tiananmen Square.

One of my stupidest moments...
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:19, archived)
# I'm TRYING to disagree, really I am...
(, Sun 3 Apr 2005, 13:24, archived)
# Don't get me wrong,
there's plenty of awesome shit in China, but I really did get the feeling that there were lots of things that they don't want us Laowai to see.

edit: another stupid moment - i thought you'd replied to my post above. It should be mentioned that I'm quite tipsy right now.

Can you please pretend that I just wrote something clever in braille?
