The invention
of weights and measures
Makes robbery easier.
Signing contracts, settings seals,
Makes robbery more sure.
Teaching love and duty
Provides a fitting language
With which to prove that robbery
Is really for the general good.
A poor man must swing
For stealing a belt buckle
But if a rich man steals a whole state
He is acclaimed
As statesman of the year.

but I tried to read larger sections of The Inner Chapters and it just made me want to smack him. He sometimes took a little too long to get to the point. But reading the selections "translated" by Thomas Merton was an experience of it's own. Especially the one about the Breath of Nature.

Merton's is the best I've read so far. If you know a better one I'd be eager to check it out, though
